What is screen printing?

Screen printing is the production of images by pushing (or pulling) ink through mesh screens onto a substrate (paper, fabric, etc.).

At Razor Jogger, we make traditional hand-pulled screen prints. Due to space and equipment limitations, we prefer to work exclusively with A3 (11.7” x 16.5”) format for our standard, finished works. This provides about a 10.7” x 15.5” “safe area” for printing. In some cases, we may be able to print larger or accomplish full bleeds, but this would be considered a “custom” order with potential pricing and lead time changes.

File formatting

Vector art or high-resolution raster art is required. All images should be 300ppi (or higher), in the following file formats: PSD, PDF, TIF, SVG, PNG, JPG.

Color separation is included with pricing for screen printing. Read more about our color separation services here.

How much does screen printing cost?

The cost of screen printing depends on a few variables, including the paper or substrate being printed on (and whether or not the paper is being provided by you or sourced by us); the number of plate layers and inks; whether or not inks must be custom mixed, etc.

Manual screen printing can be a very labor and time intensive process. For that reason, screen printed projects are more expensive and are taken on under special circumstances only. We are definitely interested in discussing all potential projects but will only take on work if we are confident that we can do justice to it.
